The Ogun State commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Samson Adeola Odedina has again been awarded as an icon of youth empowerment which was conferred by the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Ogun State Axis.
The chairman of NANS, comrade Bamgbose Tomiwa while presenting the award to the commissioner said that the award was in recognition of his charismatic leadership acumen, passionate professional capabilities, patriotism and commitment towards youths/ students developmental projects in Ogun State and Nigeria at large
Bamgbose extolled the diligence of the commissioner on his resilient drives in paddling the canoe of the ministry of agriculture.
Meanwhile, the commissioner for agriculture described the award as a unique one , saying that the award would encourage him to do more
He sad, '' This is a very unique award and I appreciate it in a special way, because it came from Nigerian students, one year after I left the tertiary institution. I listened to the president of NANS, JCC, to express appreciation with what we have been doing with Nigerian youths outside the school system. Our amiable governor, prince Dapo Abiodun has Just been honored with award of best governor in the agriculture in Nigeria and one of the thing that led to the award is what the governor is doing with the youths in Agriculture.
''I want to commend NANS that they are not only interested in Nigerian youths inside the school system but they are also interested in youths outside the school system and I must commend them for this initiative.
We must also commend them for actually checking on us on how we are doing with the youths, I value this award and I commend the leadership of NANS in Ogun state and I commend the great leaders who formed the NANS in Ogun state, is because they are good, calm, reasonable and collected, they are also looking for ways to better the lot of students with that I think our relationship with them will be continuous, sustainable and peaceful.
''I want to advise them to be focused, they should see whatever they are facing now as a phase in their life and they should be concerned about building their character'' He concluded
