The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Adedotun Gbadebo, on Monday appointed a popular music producer, chief Aremu Bamgboye as the Oluwo of Ijeja land , Abeokuta, area of Ogun State.
The Alake Of Egbaland who was represented by the Oluwo of Igbehin who also doubles as Oluwo of Agbonyi installed chief Aremu Bamgboye as the Oluwo of Ijeja land.
He said that the installation came from the order of the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Gbadebo Adedotun.
The Oluwo of Igbehin maintained that that any other Oluwo apart from chief Bamgboye is a counterfeit.
''We are here today on the order given to us by the Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo that we should install chief Bamgboye as the Oluwo of Ijeja land and we have successfully installed him. He is the authentic Oluwo''.
He therefore called on the residents of Ijeja land to support the newly appointed Oluwo of the community.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Oluwo of Ijeja land, Chief Aremu Bamgboye expressed joy over his new appointment, calling on the people of the community to support him.
In his words, ''I am really happy today, I can not express how happy I am. I am really happy even when Alake of Egbaland approved my appointment, I felt so happy.
''I want to call on the residents of Ijeja land come and support me, I can not do it alone, I need your support, both home and abroad should come home to support me in changing this community for good.
''I also called on those who are not in support of me to come and let us work together for the betterment of the community'' He concluded
