The new Ogun state commissioner of police, CP Edward Ajogun has said that he will engage the youths in all the senatorial districts in the state so as to discourage them from participating in criminality.
CP Ajogun disclosed this when the leadership of Ijebu youth association led by the president of the association Com. Fayomi Wasiu okikiola, paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Friday.
The CP said, ''We will be meeting the youth from time to time to discourage them from participating in any crimes because statistics has shown that major crimes perpetrated are carried out by youths and I feel that if we continue to engage the youth for them to know that crime doesn't pay, they should be able to see reason why they should avoid crime."
" In a crime invested environment , the economy of that community will deteriorate and there is no way it can be of benefit to the youths. Where there is crimes, you are not going to find the youth running smooth business such as restaurant, canteen, barbing saloon and so on up to mid night , 10, o'clock, or so with the fear of cultists
''I don't know why someone will go and join secret cult using human blood to take oath, killing themselves over flimsy issues.
'' I will be engaging the youth because I believe they're intellects to engage me for the betterment of the society.'' He concluded
Ajogun therefore advised the youth to stay away from crimes, urging them to do things that will glamorize them.
