Abiodun Gets 7-Day To Reverse Pension Reform Law

The workers in Ogun state has demanded for immediate reversal of the new pension law within seven days from the state governor, prince Dapo Abiodun. They however said that they will embark strike if the state governor refuses to reverse the pension law. The chairman of Joint Public Service Negotiating Council on new pension law, comrade Folorunsho Olanrenwaju disclosed this on Monday at NUJ Secretariat, Abeokuta, Ogun state. Olanrenwaju noted that workers in the state have lost confidence in the government-labour consultative forum set up to look into the welfare of the workers.  He noted that the decision of the state government to enact such law without the consideration of the Labour leaders is immoral and unconstitutional, adding that the law is an attempt to allegedly maltreat the senior citizens in the state. Dr. Solarin Thomas who performed a caesarian surgery operation on a woman at a primary health centre  in Abeokuta South local government has  said that they were able to perform a successful caesarian surgery operation due to the needed equipment provided by the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the centre. He made this known to newsmen on Monday when the caretaker chairman, Abeokuta south local government,  Ayodeji Shomide visited the health centre to see the woman and her new baby. Abiodun Appoints Former House Of Representatives Aspirant, Balogun as SSA

The Ogun state Governor, prince Dapo Abiodun has appointed  Hon. Afeez Balogun as his senior special assistant. Russia Receives Orders For ONE BILLION Doses Of World’s First Covid-19 Vaccine

  A total of 20 nations from Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia have already requested doses of  Russia’s breakthrough coronavirus vaccine, which was confirmed to be registered on Tuesday by Russian President Vladimir Putin. At a conference dedicated to the announcement of the vaccine’s registration, the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) explained that it had already received orders for a billion doses. “Together with our foreign partners, we are ready to produce more than 500 million doses of the vaccine per year,” Kirill Dmitriev explained. Everything produced in Russia will be used domestically, and doses for use in other countries will be made abroad. Petroleum Tanker Drivers Begin Strike As Talks With Govt Fail

  Petroleum Tanker Drivers in Lagos State have withdrawn their services as directed by the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) beginning from Aug. 10. The state Chairman, NUPENG, Mr Tayo Aboyeji made the confirmation on Monday in Lagos. Aboyeji said that the strike began in the early hours of Aug. 10, following negotiation breakdown between the state government and the union. “Although, we met with the state government yesterday night (Aug. 9), yet we could not reach an agreement. “So, only the tanker drivers in Lagos State proceeded with the strike, because the environment is not conducive for tankers to operate,’’ he said. Abeokuta South Caretaker Committee Commiserates With The Family Of Late Oludare

The transition committee of Abeokuta south local government led by hon. Ayodeji Shomide on Monday commiserated with family of the former chairman of the local government, Hon. Oludare Gbolahan Popularly known as Sherubawon  who died early this morning in Abeokuta. This was stated in a statement signed by the LG boss which was made available to news men in Abeokuta. The Committe described his death as not only a great loss to his family but to the people of Abeokuta south local government. It also added that the former chairman has lived a fulfilled life during his life time. The committee and the entire staff therefore sympathized with the family of the deceased. They prayed may God forgives his sin and accept his soul into Ajanah , adding that may God grant his family and  friends fortitude to bear the irreparable loss
