As part of his efforts to protect the lives and properties of his constituents, a member of Ogun State House of Assembly, representing Ijebu North East State Constituency, Hon. Abayomi  Fasua Johnson on  Saturday donated life jackets to the residents of Eyin Osun, a riverine area in ward 3, Ogun State.

Fasuwa maintained that it is part of the  measures put in place  to boost safety on waterways during operation.

He disclosed this to newsmen during the presentation of the jackets to his constituents on Friday.

While presenting the jackets, the Assembly member noted that the gesture was geared towards addressing the risk of loss of life during mishaps as well as enhance operation of the fishermen.

He also added that the gesture is a practical demonstration of  governor Dapo Abiodun's responsiveness to the safety of residents and also in response to the demand of fishermen.

According to him, this will encourage them in  carrying out their operations without any hindrance.

He said,  ''We  are here to  donate life jackets to our people crossing the river Osun. We use to lose at least four life per year especially during rainy season due to boat mishap because they are not adhering to safety measures on the waterways, our people are paramount to us and we cannot continue to lose them that is why we have decided to make available for life jackets that will serve as protection for their lives and properties''. He concluded.

Other members of the entourage are Tpl Segun Odunola ( The chairman, ijebu north east LG), Mr Femi  Rennaye ( The secretary to the Local Government), Mr Adebiyi (The CDC zonal chairman),

Meanwhile, the assembly member visited the palace of  Ajalaiye of Ilugun south to pay homage to him.

Also in company of Hon. Fasuwa were the  Kabiyesi Oba Ademola Olusanu, The Ajalaiye of Ilugun South, The chiefs represented by Chief Pius Odukoya and Otunba Olaide Oguntuga, The Baales represented by Baale Olugbode, The Baale of Idode community and Baale Durojaiye of Makalewo community, Eyin OsĂșn.
