A member of Ogun state house of Assembly, representing ijebu north east state constituency, Hon. Abayomi Fasuwa has described the winner of June 12, 1993 presidential election, Late Bashorun MKO Abiola as freedom fighter and a unique politician who died for the people
He added that Abiola has paid the supreme price for the the democracy that Nigerians are enjoying.
In a press statement issued in Abeokuta on Thursday and signed by the assembly member Hon. Fasuwa, MKO was described as one of the Icons of Ogun State, whose influence on democracy can't be over emphasised.
He urged other politicians to emulate him
The Assembly member also noted that Abiola was also one of the greatest philanthropists we had in the history of Nigeria.
Hon. Abayomi Fasuwa extended his prayers to family of late MKO and the whole of Nigeria and also encouraged younger generations to visit history books to learn about this great Icon.
He therefore wished his constituents in ijebu north east especially the youths and my his family on ijebu north east forum (INEF) as well as all APC members happy democracy day.
We are proud of our country. We are proud because we know that we will soon be led to the light, and we are sure we will soon get there. We are confident that with this present administration. Things will turn out for the better.
