COVID-19: Provide Means Of Survival To Cushion Effect Of Lockdown, Ogun Chairmanship Aspirant Urges FG

The chairmanship aspirant for Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Faruq Akintunde has  called on the federal government to ensure Nigerians are provided with relief materials for the survival of the citizens who have been ordered to remain at their different homes.

Faruq made this known on Monday in Abeokuta on Telephone interview in Abeokuta, Ogun state

He said that the only way to relieve Nigerians is to provide them food materials, cash and other materials that will  be good for their survival.

He however advised Nigerians to support the surveillance and control measures adopted by the government to combat the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

He said ''I share in the plight of Nigerians and especially the good people of Abeokuta south local government in the on going corona virus pandemic ravaging the entire world.

''I want to advise the federal government to provide relief materials to Nigerians now that they have been ordered to remain at their different homes because it remains important for the survival of the people.

''I also want to urge all citizens and residents of Abeokuta south local government to ensure total compliance to all rules and directives laid down by the government at all levels to curb the menace''

''The  Government at the centre should be more proactive by reinvigorating the doctrine of necessity law to address the vulnerable set of peoples in the face of this total lock down of economic activities. I also want to call called upon our legislators to do the  needful in enacting laws that will support the government to come to the aid of all Nigerians and not a selected states of the country''. He concluded

The Ogun State ICON of Humanity has honored the Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. Fasuwa Johnson has commiserated with the family of Anthony Adejonpe who died yesterday night In his condolence message, the assembly man  said that  the death of  the Ijebu born  came as a shock to him. The assembly man described the deceased as  a worthy and dependable son of Imomo, ilugun Alaro in his life time. He said, ''This is a  great loss to us in Ijebu North East and Ijebu in  general,  A vibrant and a highly dependable youth is gone. We had our last meeting in September though very short was all about how we can move our area to the next level.
