COVID-19 : AMORAN commences free distribution of hand sanitizers in Ogun

Determined to curb the coronavirus pandemic, the Articulated Motorcycle and Riders Association of Nigeria, (AMORAN), Ogun State chapter has commenced the distribution of 5,000 bottles of sanitizers to commercial motorcycle riders in the State.

The gesture, according to the Union's Publicity Secretary, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, is aimed at keeping the scourge at bay in the State.

The distribution exercise was held at the three senatorial districts simultaneously over the weekend.

Speaking on the exercise, Otunba Sokoya said the initiative was carried out to sensitize the members on the precautionary measures against the deadly virus.

He said "The whole world is passing through a difficult time with the rapid spread of COVID-19 and the only way to fight against this scourge is to abide strictly with UNICEF guidelines on handwashing/hand hygiene”

"Our Union, under the able leadership of Nurudeen Aina (Alowonle) has demonstrated total commitment to joining concerted efforts at curtailing the spread of the virus.

"Since our members are going to be on the streets, going about their daily routine, it is imperative they manitain best hygiene practices to guard against contracting the virus. This is why we have embarked on this exercise."

"We realize government alone cannot help contain the spread of the virus, as individuals, and as a group, we must all complement government's efforts in the fight against this scourge."

He added that the union also took out time to sensitize the members on the need for regular hygiene as a veritable measure for the prevention of coronavirus infection.

Ogun Commissioner Gets Honorary Award For Supporting The Vulnerable

The Ogun State ICON of Humanity has honored the Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon.    A member of Ogun State House of Assembly, Representing Ijebu North East State Constituency, Hon. Fasuwa Johnson has commiserated with the family of Anthony Adejonpe who died yesterday night In his condolence message, the assembly man  said that  the death of  the Ijebu born  came as a shock to him. The assembly man described the deceased as  a worthy and dependable son of Imomo, ilugun Alaro in his life time.
