1,200 parents, others declare support for Bello, promise him 2000 votes at LG election

No fewer than one thousand and two hundred  parents under the Parents Teachers Association, PTA,  COMPRO, Abeokuta Ogun State has declared support for the chairmanship aspirant for Abeokuta north local government. They also vowed to mobilize two thousand votes for him at the poll. In an interview with the PTA chairman. COMPRO, Abeokuta, Ogun State disclosed this to newsmen. Ogun first lady, Bamidele, hails Deputy speaker for empowering unemployed youths

  The wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, has commended the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly and a member representing Ijebu North II State Constituency, Hon. Tributes have been paid to a pastor and two of his children who drowned during a holiday in the Costa del Sol, as a family lawyer said a secondary investigation should be opened if their cause of death is not clear. Gabriel Diya, 52, his daughter Comfort, nine, and son Praise-Emmanuel, 16, died on Christmas Eve at the Club La Costa World in Fuengirola, Spain. On Saturday, lawyer Javier Toro acting for the family told reporters: "It's not normal and very weird that three people died in the centre of a pool. "The family is not satisfied with the interpretation of it being a simple accident." Ogun Assembly Passes 2020 Appropriation Bill Of N449.97billion into law

The Ogun House of Assembly on Friday passed the the state’s 2020 appropriation bill of N449.97billion into law. Mr Olakunle Sobukanla (APC – Ikenne) ,  the Chairman,  House Committee on Finance and Appropriation , had earlier during plenary presented the report of his committee on the budget before the whole House. Sobukanla said that the appropriation bill had  an adjustment to the capital expenditure leading to an increment of N2.1billion for capital projects . He stated  that the realignment moved the capital expenditure from N269.13billion  to N271. 23billion The lawmaker also added that the recurrent expenditure was slashed from N154.896billion to N152.796billion, with  a reduction of N2.1billion.  He stated that the N2.1billion reduction in the recurrent expenditure was added to the capital expenditure . Wire Fraud: Emmanuel Mong Arrested At Airport While Trying To Flee US

A Nigerian, Emmanuel Mong, caught trying to catch a flight home, is in the process of being extradited from Washington to Stamford in California, where he will face charges that he illegally intercepted a $30,000 wire transfer from Purdue Pharma. According to Port of Seattle Police, 24 year-old Mong of Savannah, Georgia, was trying to catch an Emirates Airlines flight to Nigeria on Dec. 16 at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Seeing there was a felony warrant in his name, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers detained him until police arrived at Sea-Tac Airport. According to the report, Stamford police issued a warrant for Mong’s arrest in 2017, charging him with first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree computer crime and conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, with a court-ordered appearance bond of $250,000. 48 Boko Haram Fighters Killed, 3 Arrested’ As Soldiers Repel Xmas Eve Attack

Nigerian soldiers and members of a vigilante successfully repelled a Boko Haram attack on Biu in Southern Borno State, an official has said. An official of the Civilian-JTF, whose members fight alongside the military against the insurgents, told PREMIUM TIMES that 48 Boko Haram fighters were killed in the battle. The Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps,  FRSC in the state, Clement Oladele has said that no fewer than sixteen million passengers will travel  on lagos-Ibadan express way during the festive period. Oladele made this known during a seminar  organized for commercial drivers in order to educate and sensitise them on road safety. While addressing the participants explained  that his agency was projecting that no fewer than 16 million passengers will travel on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway during the festive period. The one day seminar which was held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, the State capital was attended by members of the various transport unions and officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE).
